Saturday 13 June 2015
During the annual World Heritage weekend the Dutch UNESCO World Heritage Sites open their doors to the public. This year it takes place during the weekend of the 13th and 14th June. Fort Island Pampus, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list, is the visitors centre for the Defence line of Amsterdam. This season on Pampus is an exhibition of 42 aerial photographs by René Ros and Otto Bodemeijer of the Defence Line of Amsterdam. The exhibition can be seen in the dry moat of the fort under the title ‘tentoonStelling’.
In honour of the World Heritage weekend both photographers will give a guided tour round the exhibition when visitors can ask questions about the forts and gun batteries portrayed and how they were photographed. During the exhibition the book ‘Stelling van Amsterdam in vogelvlucht’ will be on sale in the shop at € 9.95 a copy or you can order the book by email via firstname.lastname@example.org.
