Opening hours

As of the first of April to the first of November, Fort Island Pampus will be opened again for a new season. On Mondays the Island will be closed, except for Easter Monday and Whit Monday. On Sunday the fifth of July the Island will be closed.

Ferry service Muiden

The passage from Muiden to Pampus will take approximately 25 minutes. Enjoy a magnificent view over the IJmeer from the ferry. Our own Pampus ferry ‘Stern’ offers seats for 150 people and is equipped with a toilet. The ferry is partially covered, so even in rain you can reach the Island dry.

The ferry departs from the Herengracht in the fortified town of Muiden opposite to house number 33. To assure yourself of a ticket on the ferry you can buy yours online (with discount) in advance . It is also possible to buy your ticket (without discount) on the ferry, you can pay in cash or with your debit card. We advise you – to prevent disapointment – to buy your tickets in advance.
Note: Fort Island Pampus and the ferry to the Island are not suitable for invalides.

Pampus will be closed for visitors on Monday the 27th of April, due to Kingsday.

Ferry from Amsterdam IJburg – independent ferry service

Note: The Ferry Service Amsterdam (Veerdienst Amsterdam) starts again on Saturday the 4th of April 2015.

You can also take a ferry from Amsterdam to Pampus during the season. ‘Veerdienst Amsterdam’ sails with the ‘Sailboa’ from the Amsterdam IJburg harbour to Pampus. This harbour is easy to reach by tram 26 from Amsterdam Central Station within 15 minutes. The passage to Pampus will take approximately 40 minutes. It is also possible to combine your Pampus visit with a visit to the medieval castle Muiderslot. Ferry Service Amsterdam (Veerdienst Amsterdam) is an independent service who handles their own rates, times and promotions. Tickets bought via the Pampus website are not valid for the use of Ferry Service Amsterdam. Also other promotions via the lottery or other partnerships are not valid (unless otherwise stated) when buying your ticket from Veerdienst Amsterdam. By own boat

Are you coming to pay a visit to Pampus using your own boat? Please sign yourself in at the fort watch keeper after arrival in the harbour. Mooring at Pampus is free of charge. You can buy your tickets for the Fortress and the Pampus Xperience in the shop ‘Het Magazijn’ in the Pavilion. Note: we expect you to not to consume your own food and beverage on your boat while in harbour.

The jetties have to be vacated after the Island closes at 17:00. Mooring on the Island is not allowed after closing time. To anchor in the lee of the Island is possible of course. Do you want to visit the Fortress and Xperience unlimited during the season? Buy a season ticket.

Note: Pets are not allowed on the Island (excluding guide and help dogs).
